Easy Baklava Recipe

An Easy recipe for sweet and yummy baklava.
2 cups finely chopped almonds
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2-3 Tablespoons bread crumbs
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups water
1 stick cinnamon
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
20-24 sheets filo pastry
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Place filling ingredients in a bowl. Combine until blended.
Place all the syrup ingredients in a medium sized saucepan, Bring mixture to a boil while stirring. Let simmer for 10 minutes then let cool.
Brush 10 sheets of filo with melted butter, Laying them in the buttered dish one by one.
Spread the filling over the pastry sheets.
Top the filling with 10-12 sheets of pastry, buttering each sheet.
Brush the top of the pastry with butter.
With a sharp knife, score the top layers in large squares.
Bake for 1 hour or until the top turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and slowly pour the syrup over the top.
let sit for at least 5-6 hours to absorb the syrup.
